We’ve never been ones for dogmatic rules. And with a bit of defiance of the UCI rulebook, the Shiv sets the new standard for speed, again.
It maintains its focus on aerodynamics, fuel and fit, but it does so in a completely new and novel way. Yes, it has disc brakes. Yes, it’s easy to transport. And yes, it takes aerodynamics to unheard-of levels using storage and adjustment features that also make you faster.
There’s only one bike that will help you reach the top of the podium this season and that’s the Shiv Disc.
The S-Works Shiv Disc module comes with a Shiv carbon aero handlebar with variable height adjustment and a Shiv carbon seatpost with a 0mm offset, a perfect start to your dream build.
- The incredibly aerodynamic, crosswind-optimized, non-UCI-legal FACT carbon frame has all the details you’ve asked for. It’s packable, adjustable, has our Fuelcell Hydration and Nutrition systems, and makes it easy to find your perfect fit. Compared to the fastest possible 2011 Shiv setup (Fuelcell, low bars, clean cable routing, BTA bottle), the Shiv Disc is nearly a minute faster around the Kona course. With a more typical Shiv setup, the Shiv Disc is faster by minutesplural. So no matter how much you need to carry, you’re sure to have the fastest setup on race day.
- What was that about storage? As with the original Shiv, the Shiv Disc features both Hydration and Nutrition Fuelcell storage options, but we didnt simply repurpose them. Instead, we designed them from the ground up. We moved the Hydration Fuelcell from inside the frame to the rear of the bike. Now, its completely hidden within the frame (even the hydration hose), which not only allows for increased fluid capacity, but also helps with aerodynamics. The Nutrition Fuelcell utilizes the extra volume created by the New Speed Shape for the downtube, and this creates plenty of room for snacks. How many snacks? 10-12 gels, 4-5 bars, or 5-6 sticks of gum will easily fit, and it can also be removed for easy access to Shimano Di2s A-Junction box or a puncture repair kit.
- We also made sure the Shiv is highly adjustable so you can fine-tune your fit. The frame comes in four different sizes that are based on over 1,000 Retl fits with real athletes, all to ensure your ideal fit is achievable.
- Adjustability was also a priority for the aero bars, extensions, and arm pads, so the cockpit is adjustable in almost every way. Need more or less height on the base bar? Simply loosen a single screw on each side and adjust up or down. The aero bars, themselves, also offer plenty of adjustabilityfore, aft, and pad width, all with aggressive and relaxed positions in mind. An added bonus to this adjustability is ease of transport. All you have to do is fold the base bar up toward the fork, unbolt the cockpit, and your Shiv is ready for the bike box. We couldnt make it easier.
