For the Dissident 2, we collaborated with powerful athletes Loc Bruni and Finn Iles to design a helmet that meets the highest demands of downhill mountain bike racing, in terms of confidence, modern fit and breathability.

With five strategically placed EPS foam inserts, we can adjust the density of the foam based on where it is configured within the helmet, allowing us to maintain a light weight while still managing energy. Using a softer foam density allows more energy to be absorbed in an impact, transferring less to the rider. Dissident 2 also provides increased confidence thanks to its Mips Evolve Solution, which helps redirect rotational motion away from the head. In this Evolve Solution, we have used fabric pockets on the inside, reducing creaking.

Staying cool is more than just a state of mind, and its hard to maintain your composure when things heat up especially when your head feels like its in a sauna. So instead of focusing on more vents, we focused on better vents. Built from the inside out, the Dissident 2s ventilation system features a mesh hood that channels cool airflow in and purposefully placed vents that direct warm air out, allowing your head to stay cool and comfortable in any situation.

The lightness of this helmet was very important. In the context of a race, feeling light and mobile allows for quicker reactions and reduced fatigue between the tapes. With the EPS foam construction inserted, the helmet remains very light while offering great protection. While we cant speculate on everything that was going through Finn Iles head during his 2022 winning run at Mont-Sainte-Anne, we know what he wasnt thinking Whether youre stepping up on stage for your first ever World Cup winning race, or chasing your own championship in local enduro series, the Dissident 2 has you covered.
