The world’s lightest and fastest double-suspension aluminum bike.
18.4% lighter than its closest competitor and sharing the geometry and kinematics of our World Cup-ready Epic 8 mountain bike, the new Chisel delivers performance you can feel, whether you’re racing “between the tapes” or riding solo on your local trails.
METALLICALLY FAST:
Thanks to D’Aluisio Smartweld, the Chisel is the lightest XC aluminum frame in its class. Each highly manipulated frame tube features a continuous variation in wall thickness and a shape that provides stiffness where you need it, for greater efficiency, and ride smoothness where you want it, for greater comfort and optimal control.
UNLIMITED CAPABILITY:
With 110mm of suspension with our Ride Dynamics technology, the Chisel’s high-performance pedigree traces directly to the Epic 8, our World Cup racing machine. The advanced suspension kinematics DNA of the Epic 8, Ride Dynamics suspension, and progressive geometry refined on technical World Cup circuits are found in the Chisel, making it more than capable of handling varied terrain with confidence and speed.
INCREDIBLY EFFICIENT:
The Chisel is the most efficient pedaling bike in its class, thanks to the geometry and kinematics used in our multi-World Cup-winning Epic 8 platform. The angled seat tube places the rider in the optimal pedaling position. The sharp anti-squat reduces “pedal bob.” All of this ensures that the Chisel translates every watt applied to the pedals into maximum forward movement.
SMOOTHER IS FASTER:
We have designed a rear end with flexible seat stays for class-leading suspension performance while eliminating the added weight and maintenance associated with the pivots needed in a traditional design. More common in carbon bikes, extensive field and lab testing show that Chisel has achieved the impossible: efficiency, control, and lightness of a flexible stay design in advanced aluminum.
HYDROFORMED ALUMINUM:
The Chisel saves material and weight with a one-piece hydroformed seat tube that integrates the seat tube pivot, main pivot, and bottom bracket. In a more traditional bike, the seat tube is typically just a “tube” with the pivots and bottom bracket welded on.
