6902 LLU MAX BO – MAX-Design, Black-Oxide, ABEC-3, radial suspension bearing – 15 mm x 28 mm x 5 mm – Enduro

Bearings pioneered MAX type bearings over 20 years ago for bicycles to address the challenges associated with mountain bike pivots. MAX bearings provide 35% to 40% more load capacity than standard radial bearings by using a special design that inserts the maximum number of balls in the bearing through a custom ground groove on the races.

The additional balls, combined with deep grooves in these bearings, provide greater lateral support for the torsion and multidirectional forces associated with mountain bike pivots.

This ABEC-3 black oxide MAX type bearing features deep groove raceway design, grade 10 balls, and double-lip labyrinth seals (LLU) with full contact for maximum protection against the elements while maintaining 90% Almagard high-pressure grease fill inside. The black oxide/magnetite coating provides an added level of corrosion resistance and prolonged worry-free performance.

It has been used as a suspension pivot bearing by several bike brands. The Enduro bearing line is available in high-carbon chrome steel, 440C stainless steel, ceramic hybrid, and XD15 with ceramic or stainless steel balls.
