You know what they say: when the grams disappear, the speed comes out to play.
With the lightest EVO frame we’ve ever created and the most aggressive iteration of our Progressive XC Geometry to date, the S-Works Epic EVO has made some choices and assembled a dream support team to deliver a ‘capability-to-weight’ ratio that jumps from impressive to mind-blowing.
While the Epic EVO sees a seemingly modest 20 millimetre increase in suspension travel up front over its Epic companion and just 10 millimetres at the rear, we’ve worked overtime to ensure it’s been implemented in a way that will have you saying “Whoa!” as soon as you hit your first stretch of singletrack.
Meticulously designed to maintain the Epic’s highest possible efficiency, the EVO’s new suspension kinematics work in conjunction with the custom Rx XC Tune front and rear suspension to ensure you’re able to make the most of every inch of travel, while offering increased anti-squat characteristics to improve pedalling efficiency.
With plenty of practice staying ahead of the curve, the Epic EVO can now boast to be the most capable iteration of our Progressive XC Geometry ever to grace an Epic. It’s also more versatile than ever thanks to a new chip flip-flop equipped rear end that allows riders to adjust head tube angle and bottom bracket height to easily customize the Epic EVO’s handling characteristics.
For the S-Works Epic EVO we’ve also made sure that every last component that has the honour of gracing its FACT 12m carbon frame is equally dedicated to finding the ultimate balance between lightness, efficiency and load capacity. For proof, just take a look at the seemingly logic-defying, stiffer, lighter and stronger masterpiece that is the new Roval Control SL wheelset, and SRAM’s XX1 Eagle AXS electronic groupset, light for XC but tough for trail, and the electronically actuated Reverb AXS wireless telescopic seatpost.
- Turn it around: Adjust the ride of the S-Works Epic EVO’s FACT 12m carbon frame to suit your preferred handling characteristics with flip-chip simplicity that allows riders to reduce the EVO’s head tube angle by half a degree while lowering the bottom bracket height by 10 millimetres.
- The combination of the stiff, lightweight SID Ultimate chassis with RockShox’s lightest-ever Charger Race Day shock is a real winner, allowing for impressive weight savings without sacrificing impressive levels of performance, precision and control.
- The pinnacle of drivetrain performance, the SRAM XX1 Eagle AXS combines state-of-the-art wireless technology, incredibly precise shifting performance and revolutionary versatility to dramatically redefine the riding experience.
- Created specifically to accommodate both the weight savings and increased capacity of the S-Works Epic and S-Works Epic EVO, the Roval Control SL rim introduces an all-new offset rim profile that features a 29 millimetre internal width and not only increases strength and reduces weight, but also improves puncture resistance by 22%.
