The Status 160 may look like a completely new bike, but it’s actually more like a whole new concept of how to have fun on two wheels – even if you know they’re different sizes.
The 29-inch wheel gives you the best cornering grip and a brutal feel when going over bumps and roots, while the 27.5-inch rear wheel with a shorter chainstay length makes the bike playful and manoeuvrable. All this, together with the Mixed Wheel Size Trail Geometry, makes this bike the best choice for hitting the bike parks, trails and the twisties.
We’ve packed the funky Status 160 frame with everything you need to keep the party going – powerful brakes, an X-Fusion Manic telescopic seatpost and Fox FLOAT 36 fork along with DPX2 Performance rear suspension, all linked by the FSR system for an active, planted feel.
- The M5 aluminium status frame combines fun and Mixed-Wheel Trail geometry, which together with the FSR suspension system, doesn’t just take all kinds of hits, it asks for more.
- The bike is fitted with a FOX 36 Rhythm fork to give you incredible all-round adventures, with controlled travel and just enough feel to give you that extra confidence. The dual-position Sweep setting helps the FLOAT 36 Rhythm fork deliver the best of its 160mm of travel in any situation, while the 36mm of bars give you enough stiffness for optimal precision to push the limits when needed.
- The quality suspension allows for more speed, but should you want to brake, SRAM’s Code R system will give you the precision you need. Four-piston calipers provide exceptional stopping confidence, while the 200 millimetre discs on both wheels give you an extra point when you need it.
