Nothing is faster than the Tarmac SL8, thanks to a combination of aerodynamics, light weight and ride quality that was once thought impossible. After eight generations and more than two decades of development, its more than just the fastest Tarmac ever its the fastest race bike in the world. Do you have the legs for it?
Aerodynamics or lightness alone dont win races speed is what matters. Achieving that speed requires creating an uncompromising combination of aerodynamics, lightness, stiffness and compliance. Using real-data race simulations, our Ride Science team knows that the Tarmac SL8 is the fastest race bike ever built on the roads that matter 16.6 seconds faster over 40km, 128 seconds faster at Milan San Remo and 20 seconds faster up the legendary Tourmalet climb.
With a 68mm threaded bottom bracket, flat-mount disc brakes, and seamless, hassle-free integration, the S-Works Tarmac SL8 frame is the ultimate starting point for your dream build.
AERO ALL OVER: We put aero where it matters at the leading edge, not just where it looks good. In the process weve created our most aero road bike ever. Yes, its more aero than the Venge. Clean air is optimised to maximum advantage with the Tarmacs new front taper the Speed Sniffer. By moving the head tube back the tube that determines the width of the head tube the leading edge of the head tube can be much sharper, offering a much lower drag shape. Utilising new UCI rules, the Tarmac SL8 has the narrowest, most aerodynamic seatpost weve ever made, ensuring that the dirty air that rushes around your legs can flow through more cleanly. Doesnt victory smell sweet?
MINIMUM WEIGHT, MAXIMUM AEROGENICITY: The Tarmac SL8 builds on the learnings gained from the Aethos to be easily built with minimal UCI and a full aero setup. The team created a mind-blowing 685-gram frame 15% lighter than the Tarmac SL7 and every other World Tour bike*. With the ability to make lightness a top priority in the down tube, seat tube and rear end of the bike, lessons from Aethos were applied. The frame shape carries load so efficiently that extra layers of carbon stiffness are redundant. *Except of course for the time Kasper Asgreen rode our 585-gram Aethos frame during a Tour stage.
RIDES LIKE HELL, RUNS LIKE THE SKY: With massive gains in stiffness-to-weight a 33% improvement over the SL7 the Tarmac SL8 takes the bikes legendary handling, aggressive response, and World Championship-proven geometry to the next level. The bike is stiffer at the pedals, more precise at the bars, and pairs it with a comfortable ride in the saddle that sets a new benchmark for race bike comfort. Thanks to our Rider-First Engineering, all riders, regardless of size, get the same unprecedented ride quality and handling. In the saddle, the Tarmac SL8 offers 6% more compliance, floating over the road with a supple feel thats unique in the race bike world. The Tarmacs proven geometry and 32mm clearance are identical to the SL7, ensuring easy adaptation and the versatility to mount higher-volume tires when needed.
BEYOND GENDER: There may be more difference between two male riders than between a man and a woman. Gender alone doesnt provide enough data to specialize and that means creating male or female bikes is arbitrary and antiquated. All riders can gain the next-level benefits of the Tarmac SL8. Its time to move beyond gender.
