Why should you be forced to choose between aerodynamics and weight, between ride quality and speed? It’s simple, you shouldn’t. Ride the new Tarmac: step up to the lightest bike the UCI allows, then step down to the fastest. We’ve used our most advanced technologies, from our FreeFoil shape library to an all-new Rider-First Engineered frame, to deliver a race bike that truly makes no compromises. The days of making sacrifices between “aerodynamic” and “lightweight” bikes are over: the new Tarmac is the fastest race bike ever. A bike to dominate them all.

- “Aero is everything”, we’ve preached it for years and it’s still the driving force behind the new Tarmac. In our search for shapes that achieve the fastest frame allowed by UCI regulations, we took a page out of the Venge development book and turned to our FreeFoil Shape Library. Armed with a file of the best designs, we headed to the Win Tunnel to subject these setups to further testing and validation. The result? The new Tarmac is the fastest we’ve ever tested. No compromises, just pure speed.
- While aerodynamics was paramount in the development of the Tarmac, and all of our race bikes, weight was the co-pilot of this great journey. Previous “aero bikes” have always penalized in weight, the more you reduced aerodynamic drag, the more weight you added. The approach of the new Tarmac was to match, and even lower, the minimum weight set by the UCI, right out of the box and without sacrificing aerodynamics. We did it with the help of the FreeFoil Shape Library, tools like FEA isotopic analysis, and some magic from the best engineers in the business.
- Continuing our focus on developing the perfect race bike, we employed our Rider-First Engineered philosophy to ensure that the new Tarmac is the most balanced and best performing bike, regardless of size. With an army of riders from our three World Tour teams, Boels-Dolmans, Deceuninck-Quick-Step and Bora-hansgrohe, we made modifications to the Tarmac based on their thousands of miles on the road. We balanced the behavior between front and rear, so that even the longest days in the saddle remain enjoyable, without sacrificing the Tarmac’s renowned handling and winning speed.
- Building on the Venge’s expertise, the new Tarmac uses simple integration to create a stem-handlebar assembly that’s easy to live with. We’ve improved cable routing for any configuration, mechanical drivetrain, traditional stems, round handlebars, etc., while maintaining its aer
